Here at Mackeanston the Graham family offer you a warm welcome and a touch of luxury in the heart of central Scotland, where you will wake to the sound of the skylark, drink in the pure air of the Highlands and enjoy the panorama of lochs and mountains which make up the beautiful Trossachs area. Yet the cultural delights of Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow are only an hour away.

This is Scotland in miniature, an area made famous by writers such as Sir Walter Scott, Robert Burns and William Wordsworth. Stirling Castle, the National Wallace Monument, and majestic Ben Ledi are within sight of the house, to the west lie Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine and Loch Voil, in the heart of Rob Roy MacGregor country featured in the "Braveheart" and "Rob Roy" films. Golf Courses within 35 minutes include Gleneagles, Loch Lomond, Callander, Aberfoyle and Bridge of Allan.

The luxuriously large Master Bathroom has been completely refurbished with extra large shower with Disabled seat and Grab rail, and new bath with shower attachment.

DINING AT MACKEANSTON HOUSE

Dinner and Breakfast are normally served in the Conservatory overlooking the beautiful old walled garden with south-facing views to Stirling Castle, the Gargunnock hills and the Wallace Monument in the distance.

Fiona's cooking is largely Organic using an Aga - She bakes bread makes jams and marmalade and uses local organic ingredients wherever possible, including herbs and fruit from the garden.

Colin, who is a Blue Badge Tour Guide, is offering Driver Guided Tours of our local area by arrangement, to our guests at Mackeanston House and our self catering properties, to include: Stirling Castle, the National Wallace Monument, Inchmahome Priory at Lake of Menteith, Drummond Castle, Rob Roy Country and the Battlesites of Bannockburn, Sheriffmuir and Stirling Bridge.

TAKE M9 PERTH/STIRLING MOTORWAY, COME OFF AT JUNCTION 10 AND FOLLOW A84 (Signed to “CRIANLARACH”) TOWARDS DOUNE FOR 5 MILES. TURN LEFT ON TO B826 FOR THORNHIL, JUST BEFORE SHELL FILLING STATION.
THE TURNING TO MACKEANSTON HOUSE IS 2.2 MILES UP ON LEFT HAND SIDE. TAKE FARM ROAD AND, WHEN YOU SEE FARM AHEAD, LOOK OUT FOR OUR BEECH HEDGE-LINED DRIVE TO THE HOUSE ON RIGHT . DO NOT GO INTO FARM.
